Lepenski Vir is a Neolitic Settlement from about 6.500 B.C. , excavated mostly by Yugoslav archeologiest, professor Sreyovic.
Unique sculptures from this settlement, until nowdays are the oldiest monumental modelled stoned sculptures in Europe.
They were all placed as the element of the interior of the stone dwelings in the settlement, allways in a circular depression in the centre ( an altar ? ), as the focal point of the whole interior.
Architectural forms and measurements of the dwellings and the whole settlement, give us a conclusion, that the builders of the setlement possesed a quite definite mathematical knowledge which they employed skilfully in measuring the terrain and fixing the proportions, shapes and dimension of the houses.
